Warmer temperatures return ahead of weekend rain chances

Cloud cover looks to loom overhead as we head into the overnight hours. We could also see a little bit of fog in places early on our Friday. Morning temperatures remain mild, in the mid 40s. By the afternoon, we see the clouds clear out mostly with highs back in the low 70s and upper 60s.

The mostly sunny sky is replaced as we head into Saturday though. By Saturday morning we are once again mild, in the low 50s, but mostly cloudy skies have moved in. This is ahead of our system that will bring in a chance for showers and some thunderstorms Saturday afternoon. A chance for showers continues as we head into Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon, rain will have moved out of northeast Kansas.

If you don’t see any rain this weekend, you might notice the comfortable 70 degree weather that looks to stay with us through the weekend and even the start of the week. Monday and Tuesday are both looking to be quiet days with highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

Another system is tracking to move into the area on Wednesday. This will bring a chance for thunderstorms and showers Wednesday, and a few showers on Thursday as well. By Thursday, highs are also looking to fall back into the lower 60s.
