Woman found dead in Junction City identified, suspect in custody for murder

The body of a woman found last month in Junction City has been identified as a 59-year-old woman missing reported missing from Asheville, North Carolina. 

Ann Gibson was last seen in Asheville on May 22 and reported missing on May 24, according to Junction City Police. 

Gibson was located deceased in Junction City on May 28 and her vehicle located burned on June 1 in Laramie, Wyoming. 

Following an investigation by multiple agencies, Donald Mack Gray Jr., 58, of Buxton, North Carolina was charged with kidnapping, robbery and first degree murder in the death of Gibson. 

Gray is currently in custody in Billing, Montana on first degree murder charges in an unrelated death of an 81-year-old Montana man. 

The JCPD and Asheville Police are continuing to work together on this case.
