Woman jailed for striking girlfriend with vehicle

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said one woman is jailed after she allegedly hit her girlfriend with her car after a fight in Harford, a town southeast of Emporia.

Officials said the hit and run happened on Saturday after the two got into a shouting match in the street. The Sheriff said after that, Ryan Shepard got into her vehicle, a red passenger car, and drove towards Ashely Everly, and striking Everly with the vehicle. Shepard then left the area. Everly suffered a possible broken wrist and abrasions.

Shepard was located and taken into custody in Burlington and transported to the Lyon County Jail in Emporia. She is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated intimidation of a witness and driving with a suspended license.
