Gary Woodland was better than anyone on the course on Sunday at the PGA Championship.
Woodland, who finished at +1 for the tournament shot a two-under-par 68 on Sunday to move up from 39th into a tie for 8th. His Sunday score was tied for the best in the entire field.
The difference in terms of prize money was more than $200,000 and Woodland’s 8th-place finish netted him a total prize of $266,062.
The tournament was held at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y., one of the tougher courses on the tour.
Brooks Koepka was the winner overall when it was said and done. He entered today with a seven-stroke lead, and despite shooting 4-over on Sunday, it was enough to hold off Dustin Johnson and the rest of the field.
