SNCO Health Department offering free flu vaccines

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - The Shawnee County Health Department will offer free flu vaccines to the community.

The department said because of an increase of the flu in the county and across Kansas, the vaccines will be free. Anyone six months and older can get the vaccine starting Monday, Feb. 4, while supplies last.

The clinic's hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

To avoid spreading or contacting the flu, the health department encourages people to avoid close contact when possible, washing hands, covering your cough and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

The clinic is located at 2115 SW 10th Ave, during regular hours. No appointment is needed. For more information, you can call the Shawnee County Health Department at 785-251-5605.
