Clouds continue to clear out throughout the night as we drop back into the low teens. We could still see wind chills drop into single digits, though winds should be kept 0-5 mph out of the west. Wednesday is expected to be a sunny day for us in northeast Kansas, with highs topping out in the mid 30s.
Mostly sunny skies continue into Thursday. The system we looked at yesterday looks to stay far enough to the south on Thursday that moisture doesn’t return to the area, but gets held up in Texas and Oklahoma. By Thursday afternoon, we are back in the mid 40s and by Friday afternoon with abundant sunshine, we are back in the 50s.
The warm weather looks to stay with us Friday through Sunday, giving us a pleasant first weekend of 2019 in northeast Kansas. A few clouds build in Sunday afternoon. Overnight Sunday into Monday, a disturbance tries to brush by northeast Kansas and could give us a shower Monday morning. As we head into Tuesday, we stay in the upper 40s with sunshine back in the picture.
