Wind pummeling Northeast Kansas through Thursday


What We’re Tracking:

After rounds of rainfall quickly moved to the northeast today, wind has been ramping up. High Wind Warnings remain in effect for the majority of the viewing area through 7:00am Thursday. Winds will be gusting at times at or above 50mph. Lows will fall back into the upper 30s by early Thursday as a cold front pushes through.

Behind the front, west winds of 25-40mph for Thursday along with daytime temperatures about 30° cooler than Wednesday, holding in the 30s. Areas of light rain/snow mix or light snow showers may also move through on the back side of this storm on Thursday before clearing out Thursday night.

Highs will rebound into the middle to upper 40s for Friday with less wind and more sunshine. Then pleasant weather prevails for the weekend with highs in the lower to middle 50s.
